Welcome to CalPal.Pro (the "App"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the App.

1. General Information

  1. The App is designed to assist users in tracking their weight, meals and calculating nutrient information, including calories, proteins, fats, carbs, sugars, and related data.
  2. The App is accessed exclusively via mobile devices.
  3. The App uses artificial intelligence (AI) to convert voice, text or photo input into meal descriptions and associated nutritional data.

2. Data Collection and Use

  1. The App collects required information provided voluntarily by users.
  2. When you sign in, the App also collects your account identifiers provided by the authentication services, including:
    • Non-personalized user IDs provided by Google and/or Telegram; and
    • Your email address (as provided by Google and/or Telegram, when available).
    These identifiers are used to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and match your data across sessions/devices.
  3. The App does not collect cookies for tracking.
  4. The information you provide is stored securely in the App’s database and is used for:
    • Providing core functionality (meal tracking and nutrition calculations);
    • Account identification and security (including preventing fraud/abuse);
    • Analytics and diagnostics (understanding usage patterns and improving the App);
    • Error and performance monitoring (collecting and analyzing crash/error logs to improve stability).

3. User Responsibilities

  1. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information you provide to the App, including meal descriptions and weights.
  2. The nutritional information provided by the App is for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical or professional dietary advice. Always consult a healthcare professional for specific dietary or nutritional needs.
  3. You agree not to use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purposes.

4. Data Input

  1. The application uses AI to process voice, photo, or text input. Audio and photos are analyzed, but the original data is not saved or stored by the Application.
  2. By using the voice and photo input function, you consent to the processing of your data solely for the purpose of obtaining nutritional information.

5. Privacy and Security

  1. The App prioritizes the protection of user data. Your information is stored securely and is not shared with any third parties, except as required by law or to ensure the operation of the App.
  2. We do not sell your personal information.
  3. Users may request deletion of their personal data by contacting us via the in-app contact form or by emailing us.

6. Analytics and Performance Monitoring

  1. The App and its hosting provider may collect non-personal data, such as:
    • Performance metrics (e.g., loading times, server response times).
    • Device information (e.g., mobile browser type, operating system).
    • General usage data (e.g., number of app visits, page views, error logs).
  2. This data is collected solely for the purpose of improving the App’s performance, user experience, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  3. For analytics and diagnostics, the App may associate events and error/performance logs with your account identifiers (including your email and service-provided user IDs) to:
    • Identify affected users when investigating bugs;
    • Measure reliability and performance by user segments; and
    • Improve overall stability and user experience.
  4. By using the App, you agree to the collection of this data for the above purposes.

7. Subscription and Cancellation

  1. CalPal.Pro offers two subscription types: monthly and annual. New users are granted a 4-day free trial period, after which a paid subscription is required to maintain full access.
  2. All payments and subscription management are handled securely through Google Play or Stripe. CalPal.Pro does not directly process or store payment information.
  3. If a user chooses to cancel their subscription, no further payments will be charged. The cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period (monthly or annual, depending on the selected plan). Refunds for the current period are not provided, but users will retain full access to the App until the period concludes.

8. Limitation of Liability

  1. CalPal.Pro is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Despite our best efforts to ensure accurate nutritional information, we cannot guarantee completeness or accuracy.
  2. CalPal.Pro, its developers, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any inaccuracies or issues arising from the use of the App, including but not limited to dietary or health consequences.

9. Changes to These Terms

  1. These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the App’s features or legal requirements. Users will be notified of significant updates. Continued use of the App after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

  1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the court.
