Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CalPal (“we”, “us”, “the App”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the CalPal mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

  1. Account information. When you sign in, we collect identifiers provided by authentication services (e.g., Google), such as your Google user ID and your email address (when available). We use this to create and manage your account and to keep your data linked across sessions/devices.
  2. Health, fitness, and nutrition-related data (sensitive). The App lets you enter and store fitness and nutrition information such asweight, height, sex, age, nutrition goals, meal descriptions, calories, and macronutrients. This data is used to provide core functionality (tracking, calculations, charts, and recommendations).
  3. Content you submit for analysis. When you use features like text/voice/photo input, we process that content to generate meal/nutrition results. We do not store raw audio/photo files permanently; they may be processed transiently to provide the requested functionality.
  4. Diagnostics & usage data. We may collect app diagnostics (crash reports, performance data, and basic device/app information) to maintain reliability and improve the App.
  5. Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, we receive information needed to confirm your entitlement (e.g., subscription state) from the app store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

2. How We Use Information

  1. Provide the App’s core features (meal tracking, nutrition calculations, progress history, favorites).
  2. Authenticate you and secure your account.
  3. Operate subscriptions and access control (trial, paid features, renewals, cancellations).
  4. Fix bugs, monitor performance, prevent abuse/fraud, and improve user experience.
  5. Respond to support requests.

3. Lifestyle and Nutrition Tracking Only

  1. CalPal uses the information you provide, including nutrition, meal, body, and goal-related information, only to provide lifestyle tracking features such as meal logging, calorie and macronutrient estimates, progress charts, history, and related App functionality.
  2. CalPal is not a medical, healthcare, clinical, or dietitian service. We do not use your information to provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, disease prevention, or professional dietary care. Any nutrition or calorie information generated by the App is an estimate for personal lifestyle tracking only and should not be treated as medical or professional advice.
  3. CalPal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, approved by, or sponsored by any government, medical, healthcare, public health, or professional dietetic organization.
